This “untitled” Ep features four brand new songs which are more catchy and indie-like in its songwriting as the last record. But no need to panic, this is still the enegry driven Tidal Sleep outfit, you know from their debut. The new songs bring the typical TTS shoegaze-ish guitarlayers over dreamy delay-scapes, beautiful melodies, a massive sounding driving bass (which matched the precize drumming perfectly) plus Nic`s metaphoric filled lyrics – screamed & spoken mixing anger and despair. this record takes a big musical step forward, a further step away from the classical modern hardcore stuff towards an almost “pop”-sounding postrock-songwriting. Some parts oft he new songs remind me sometimes at the mighty Mogwai or Envy, as powerful and as beautiful. This is as good as passionate & heartfelt music can be. Chapo!
